The European Handball Federation, EHF; nominated the City of Randers in Denmark as one of the very best beach cities in Europe after the hosting of the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship last week/this week. The tournament was exceptionally well organised by the Danish Handball Federation with an immense attention from spectators on-site and online the EHF concluded.
The chairman of the EHF Beach Handball Commission, Ole Jorstad, had only compliments to the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship that was staged in Randers, Denmark last week. At the official opening of the A-tournament he nominated Randers as one of the very best beach cities in Europe. And he compared Randers to some of the greatest European beach destinations, Alanya in Turkey and Cadiz in Spain – both destinations have previously hosted The European Beach Handball Championship.
The Danish Handball Federation, DHF, has organised the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship with the strong partners the City of Randers and Sport Event Denmark. This is a crucial partnership for the event according to the DHF secretary general, Morten Stig Christensen:
”We couldn’t wish for more: The sunny and warm weather was perfect for beach handball, the sporting level was outstanding, the special atmosphere and entertaining game set-up was appealing in its own way both for spectators and players and our volunteers did a fantastic job. Sport Event Denmark and Randers also contributed to the success. We hope that the 2013 European Beach Handball Championship will promote beach handball within Denmark and Denmark within beach handball.”

The 2013 European Beach Handball Championship was organised in cooperation with the City of Randers and Sport Event Denmark.
Within the next seven months, a total of six European trophies will be awarded on Danish soil when the Danish Handball Federation hosts the three European Championships: The 2013 European Beach Handball Championship in July, Under 19 Girls European Handball Championships 2013 in August and 2014 Men’s Handball European Championship in January.
And in less than two years Denmark will stage the 2015 Women’s Handball World Championship in December. And in fact this autumn Denmark will also bid for the 2019 Men’s World Championship.
