These past days ticket sales for the great LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships 2013 have increased amazingly.
So far – the day before the event – 19,436 tickets have sold in total of which 11,476 for the finals. According to the European Swimming Federation, LEN, the championships in Herning from this aspect will be the best “selling” Short Course Championships ever.
– It’s great that we have sold so many tickets and we hope of course that many more spectators will buy tickets at the door. We plan a spectacular opening ceremony with an epic light and sound show and her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary will attend the opening ceremony and watch the finals. And of course we are also very proud that LEN claims that these championships have sold more tickets than any other European Short Course Championships ever, says Jakob Staun, Tournament Director.

– We are very pleased that the Danish have welcomed these European Short Course Swimming Championships and bought tickets for this first time ever senior swimming championships in Denmark.
– Herning has on several occasions already proved that we have an efficient framework for the staging of international sport events. The many spectators are guaranteed great swimming but also additional side events such as par example the Hall of Fame of Swimming. We hope that spectators will return home with good memories. Herning is a pool of great moments. And the city provides excellent conditions for major international sport events AND offers a little extra for our many guests, says Mr. Jørgen Krogh, Director of City, Business and Culture in the City of Herning.

2013 LEN European Short Course Swimming Championships will be staged from 12th-15th of December 2013.
559 swimmers from 41 nations will participate. The Danish Team consists of 29 swimmers – the largest team ever for a senior championship.
The championships are organized by The Danish Swimming Federation. Sport Event Denmark and The City of Herning partner the event.
